Soft White  Fleece - a full fleece from our Shetland cross cheviot ewes

A Beautiful Fleece from a Black Shetland Ewe Lamb. This is the best and softest fleece we have available.

1400g in weight

White / Beige Fleece, suitable for Fibre Crafts such as:
~ Spinning
~ Felting
~ Weaving

Staple length

Staple length is 4-6 inches at longest, often has a natural crimp or curl.

Appearance of the fleece
This is a raw fleece, which we sent as it came off the sheep, it is not washed, but it is lightly skirted.
The fleece is rich in natural lanolin and feels wonderfully soft and quite bouncy to the touch.
Weight of the fleece is approximately 1.4kg, ideal for a home spinner.
Size of the fleece
The ewe that this fleece comes from is small- medium size. As such this is a smaller fleece than many commercial breeds. Although every fleece is as different as the ewe it came from, approximately it would fill 2-3 shopping bags.

Happy Sheep
All of our raw fleeces come from happy sheep that live their lives in Orkney. They are all well cared for to the highest farming standards. 
The fleece is from a White Shetland Cross  Ewe.

The funny thing about Moorit Sheep

The funny thing about Moorit (brown) sheep is that on our farm, at least they stick together in a group. Even if they are in a larger flock of sheep, when you need to move them or there is any danger, the Moorits will always be together.
